Registration for Cosplay Fashion Show and Skits

Rules and Regulations

1. Eligibility: All cosplay events are open to all paid attendees of AFW. However we have a limited time/space so please register early. Original costumes are allowed!
2. Time limits: Cosplay Fashion Show entries are limited to approximately 30 seconds of stage time. Sorry but with so many entries and so little time it will be fast paced and little time for photo opportunities while on stage. During rehearsal those that are being juried will be given a number that you will wear on your costume (arm, torso, etc.) so the judges will know whom you are.
   SKITS: Each skit entry is limited to five minutes. You aren? required to use all that time, but if you go over five minutes you will be asked to leave the stage. Please take as little time as you can for setup.
3. Propriety: Please remember this is a family friendly event. Do keep your costumes street-legal, and refrain from using bad language, and rude gestures, or any racist, sexist, or demeaning remarks. KEEP IT CLEAN!
4. Costume guidelines: You must be able to walk a flight of stairs unimpaired in your costume, go through standard-sized doorways (at least sideways), and sit comfortably. If you feel yours is a special case, or have a question, e-mail the Coordinator. Also read rules for weapons - signs - panhandling.
5. Staying onstage: You must stay onstage throughout your presentation. Do not go out into the audience, hang over the stage side or even approach the stage side or stairs until leaving the stage at which time you will be directed where to go.
6. Law: State law, Hotel rules and AFW? general rules supersede cosplay rules. Remember just because you are dressed, as a princess, bad guy or all powerful doesn? mean you are. Behave or we will tell your Mother.
7. Removal from competition: The Cosplay Coordinator and AFW staff have the authority to remove anyone from the competition for reasons of taste, endangering self or others, violation of rules, or any reason seen fit. There will be no appeal.
8. Safety precautions: All realistic-looking firearms must have government safety orange visible. No real firearms are allowed on the premises, also no metal weaponry. No harmful or potentially destructive materials or substances are allowed, including but not limited to fire-based effects (open flames, explosives, flash paper) silly string, paint, tobacco, powder, goo spraying out of a dead daemon? neck, no live animals, confetti, props that break into more than four pieces. During cosplay nothing should hit the floor.
   SKITS: Please, no acrobatics, jumping on or off the stage, if two or more people are on stage fighting please rehearse it before the convention and perform at ? speed.
9. Limitations: the number of entries may be limited if it is deemed necessary. We will not reserve you a spot if you have not registered nor shown up for rehearsals 1 hour prior to show time.

    If you wish to be judged on ACCURACY and/or CRAFTSMANSHIP you must submit at least 2 photos of the character you are portraying and for craftsmanship, 2 or more photos of you in the process of making your costume. You will need to have these photos for pre-judging that take place during rehearsal.
11. Winners: All winners will be announced at the Closing Ceremonies on Sunday. If you won? be able to be there, please inform the Cosplay Coordinator and they can get in touch with you at a later date. This includes Cosplay FS and Skits. The competition will be video taped and photographed by AFW staff for judging, archival, or promotional purposes. By entering, contestants give permission for their image to be recorded and used by AFW and Eagles Realm LLC.
